In his exciting visual journey spanning eighteen years, Amit Mehra has traversed through variant genres of photography. He is one of very few Indian photographers to shoot a range of international ad campaigns for various clients which includes Coke, Samsung, Intel, LG, Ford, Microsoft, Emaar, DLF and various hotels like Aman Resorts, Oberoi & Taj Hotels in India & abroad.
Amit had been invited by the President of India to photograph the President’s House for the prestigious book, ‘Dome Over India’. Recently, the Government of Egypt has invited him to do a project on Egyptian culture and lifestyle as a book. As part of a cultural exchange programme, he got the scholarship by the Government of France for his photography.
His work has been exhibited in Sydney and Milan in 2005 and at the Melbourne Art Fair in 2006. In the year 2006, Amit's exhibition titled ‘His Signatures’ where he photographed the relationship between different natural elements i.e. water, sand, metal & stone, traveled across the cities of Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Paris and was commended by both art critics as well as art collectors.
Amit’s recent photography show ‘Paris-A love Affair’ was exhibited in Delhi and will travel across in India before concluding in France in 2008.
His other series titled ‘India Celebrates’ is slated for the five shows in Paris, London, Berlin, Spain and Mauritius in 2007 – 08.
The Series “India Celebrates” was also exhibited at Canon gallery in Tokyo in 2007.
His work has been published in Time, Der Spiegel, fortune, Condensate, Elle, French, Indian & Italian Elle Décor, Gallrie, India Today & Tehlka.
Amit's current projects include a coffee table book on India titled “India –A Timeless Celebration” and a large format book on just faces titled “We Indians”. |
